Energy Generation and Transmission

Project Title: Atlantic City Electric-Landis to Minotola Transmission Line Reconductoring Project
Project Location: Buena Vista Township, Buena Borough, Vineland City & Franklin Township; Atlantic, Cumberland & Gloucester Counties, New Jersey
Project Sponsor: PEPCO Holding, Inc.

PEPCO Holding, Inc. is proposing to upgrade the infrastructure of the Landis to Minotola Transmission Line by replacing the existing electric transmission lines with new lines (reconductoring). There are two 138 kV circuits on the steel lattice towers, both will be replaced from the Minotola substation to Landis substation.

ASGECI performed the wetland delineation for the 6-mile utility right-of-way, and prepared and submitted an application for a NJDEP Freshwater Wetlands General Permit #1 to authorize the proposed reconductoring activities. ASGECI also performed an assessment of potential threatened and endangered species habitat within the right-of-way, and generated a list of property owners within the right-of-way based on current municipal tax records. A targeted survey was performed for the federally-listed threatened plant, swamp pink, which concluded with no observation of swamp pink at the site.
